Service-Learning at the Arboretum & Botanical Garden at CSUFAt — Arboretum and Botanical Garden at Cal State Fullerton
Students interested in completing service-learning at the Arboretum & Botanical Garden at Cal State Fullerton may engage in either horticultural activities or educational activities. Students wishing to complete service-learning at the Arboretum must submit a Volunteer Inquiry Request form. Once this form is completed, the Volunteer Coordinator will reach out to applicants with paperwork to complete and information about required training/onboarding.
NOTE: Students' paperwork will need to be approved and students will need to have attended training/onboarding before completing service hours at the Arboretum; approval may take a week or longer. Please anticipate that service will not be available immediately and plan accordingly.
Horticultural Activities
- Propagation of plants in plant nursery
- Fruit harvesting
- Flower field maintenance
- Weeding
- Watering
- Raking, etc.
Educational Activities (requires an additional training)
- K-5 field trip program (leader or timekeeper role available)
- Discovery Stations (informational booth about environmental topics)
