PR InternAt — 2BPR
Position Overview: 2BPR’s Public Relations Intern will have the opportunity to work closely with our team on various projects, including media outreach, content creation, social media support, and event coordination. The intern will gain hands-on experience in developing and executing PR strategies, building media relationships, and crafting compelling stories for both traditional and digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation and distribution of press releases, media kits, and other PR materials.
- Monitor media coverage and track key industry trends.
- Conduct research on media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers.
- Help manage the company's social media presence by drafting posts, engaging with followers, monitoring and supporting campaigns.
- Assist in the planning and execution of PR events, press conferences, and product launches.
- Compile media lists and assist with pitching stories to journalists.
- Support internal communications efforts, including drafting internal newsletters and announcements.
- Track and analyze PR campaign results and provide feedback to improve future efforts.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail.
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) and basic digital marketing practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Previous internship or volunteer experience in PR, communications, or media is a plus, but not required.
Training:
• Introduction to the organization and our mission.
• Training on using media databases (e.g., Muckrack, Meltwater) for research and media monitoring.
• Training on how to effectively pitch journalists.
• Basics of event planning and logistics for PR events (media dinners; press trips), including drafting/sending/tracking invitations, coordinating with vendors & venues for event setup, preparing press materials for events and post-event evaluation.
• Weekly feedback with managers to discuss progress and areas for growth.
