Programs Intern At — A Reason To Survive
We are looking for a Program intern who is able to ensure daily operations run smoothly by supporting youth, educators, and staff as needed. ARTS currently offers four programs: Community ARTS, ARTS4Justice, ARTS On Campus, and ARTS@Work. Interns will be matched to a Teaching Artist and program and report to the program site to assist with duties including material preparation, documentation, and youth engagement. This position will assist in executing day-to-day assistance with discretion to their Teaching Artist’s needs. The person in this position is a flexible and passionate person who communicates professionally and effectively with ARTS’s team members and students to meet the specific goals of ARTS’s various programs.
-Professional growth opportunities such as goal-setting meetings with Teaching Artist and training opportunities -Experience working with youth and facilitating lessons -Opportunities to teach other interns in intern-led huddles or events -Opportunities to learn how to use different machinery/tools and/or art education practices from professionals -Experience participating in community engagement opportunities -Development of professional and personal communication skills
-Orientation (1.5 hours long) -1:1 with Teaching Artists (30 mins to an hour) covering curriculum for the session, how to support during programming, and other trainings as needed/relevant to the program curriculum
Students will have to complete a 30 minute assessment interview. Once offered the opportunity students will need to complete a LiveScan and TB test, as well as complete a 2 hour Mandated Reporter training for Volunteers. ARTS reimburses up to $100 for the cost of the LiveScan and TB test.
