Various Opportunities at Bay View Academy Charter SchoolAt — Bay View Academy Charter School
CSUMB students will be offered Service Learning opportunities in a TK-8 setting with meaningful, hands-on experiences. We are a public charter school and depending on the participant's schedule, various placements are available such as:
- classroom/teaching support
- administrative/clerical
- business services
- afterschool programs.
We have two campuses, Lower School (TK-4) & Upper School (5-8). Participants will be aligned with their personal interests and goals for the future.
The Bay View Academy community consists of approximatey 500 students (at both campuses combined), their families, and ~ 70 staff members. Student ages range from 5-14 years of age. We are a Title 1 public school (50% students recieve free and reduced lunch) with 70+% students identifying as BIPOC or mixed race.

Depending on their placements, students will be trained by the relevant supervisor/manager. They will also have copies of the BVA Handbook and Guidelines
Community Engagement Coordinator will facilitate the Service Learning process and assist students with any questions, needs, or concerns. Students' direct supervisors will also be trained and supported by our CEC so they can best support our CSUMB students.
Students must be comfortable working with children which requires them to play, interact, and talk to them. Supervision is very important since it directly effects the safety of our students, staff members, and families.
Interested students can follow these next steps and requirements.
