Teaching Opportunuty - Community Teaching artst for Community Arts. Community Arts is all ages, drop in, art makeing sessions. These session take place in Hermon/Arroyo Seco Park on Satudays from 11am - 1pm, and are accompanied by Community Band. It’s especially important for Art in the Park to continue being a place for introduction and exploration of artforms and practices. As part of our decades-long mission to act as an incubator for grassroots public art, we build relationships with artists and organizations. We work with teaching artists to grow projects that engage the community. Our main priority is to be in service to our community—providing ongoing programming that is free of charge and open to all ages. We work with all our teaching artists to develop inclusive programming that’s reflective of the teaching artist interests.
Articulate core intrests and personal strengths as a Community Teaching Artist. Development of flexiable and collaborative lesson plans. incorporate California Arts Standards. Pratice Social Emotional leanring. Look at current teaching models. Expand learning communitiy.
Yes, teaching artists will be trained on best pratices when working in community. How to set up, welcome particapants and breakdown art session. Along with traning on tools and materail safety, use, and correct disposal. Students can take part in CPR traning (includes narcam training) if they chose to at no cost, which happens twice a year.
Students will have a support person 100% of the time on site. Class sessions are held out doors in a public park. We work to have enough support at all sessions to midagte any issues that might arise.
