Opportunity Summary 

Aspire Public School’s is a charter management organization with field placements available in Stockton (high school, middle school) and Sacramento (elementary school). We are proud to serve diverse student bodies with an array of social, emotional, and mental health needs. Our counseling department consists of Academic Counselors and Mental Health Therapists, and the social work student positions are in our Mental Health Departments providing mental health support.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

By the end of this opportunity, students will have learned: • Building relationships with students and faculty • Providing individual, group, and family therapy • Engaging in regular assessment and treatment planning • Completing documentation consistently and learning the standards and best practices for school social work documentation • Facilitating restorative circles as an alternative to discipline • Participating in IEP, 504, SST, COST, and other RtI/MTSS meetings • Developing and delivering social emotional learning content • Exploring different treatment modalities to implement in sessions • Training staff in social emotional content or other professional development topics • Consulting with counseling teammates, teachers, administrators, etc. • Hosting family events to increase understanding of social emotional learning • Earning hours toward your Pupil Personnel Services Credential concurrently with completing your MSWII field hours

Opportunity Training 

Professional development is provided monthly, and students will participate in a robust orientation process.
