Opportunity Summary 

Student will be expected to assist in all functions of an upper-division psychology lectures in the topics of Learning and Memory (302) and Survey of Clinical Psychology (481). This includes assisting students with discussions done in class, holding office hours for students, learning how to operate school systems such as Canvas to help with administration of the course, and evaluating student submissions. All criteria are demonstrated or provided by me, and student will be supported by weekly supervision inside the classroom setting when expected to interact with students.

Learning Outcomes  

  1. Understand the inner-workings of course administration and teaching.
    2. Be familiar with campus resources and use them to assist students.
    3. Evaluate the results of student assignments and make judgements as to if they successfully retained the expected information.

Training  

  1. Meet with the student every week during class.
    2. Provide access to course material to support the expectations/ discussions of the class.
    3. Be available to the student for any other support needed outside of showing them how I administer the class to the other students.

Tasks/Duties  

  1. Ability to assist students in preparing for graded assignments/ exams.
    2. Ability to operate campus resources/ technology in order to assist with administration of an upper-division psychology course.
    3. Ability to assist me in delivery of the lecture through the use of technology in the classroom.
