Opportunity Summary 

Aquacycl is seeking an enthusiastic R&D Lab Intern to join our dynamic team, where the intern will assist with the evaluation of new customer samples and perform water chemistry analyses to optimize wastewater treatment processes. This internship offers hands-on experience in environmental engineering, focusing on tasks such as pH adjustments, reactor assembly, and maintaining lab cleanliness through 5S principles. Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

By the end of this opportunity, students will acquire hands-on experience in water chemistry analysis according to EPA methods, including pH adjustments, reactor assembly and decommissioning, and pre-treatment performance evaluations. They will develop proficiency in using laboratory equipment, organizing data sets, and documenting R&D efforts efficiently according to industry standards. Students will enhance their communication skills through regular feedback and collaboration with team members, learning to effectively convey scientific information in both technical and non-technical contexts. Opportunity Training 

Students will receive comprehensive training to perform these responsibilities effectively. This will include hands-on instruction in water chemistry analysis according to EPA methods, such as pH adjustments, sample preparation, and the use of laboratory equipment. They will be trained in reactor assembly and decommissioning procedures, as well as pre-treatment performance evaluations, ensuring they understand each step of the process. Additionally, students will be introduced to data organization and documentation practices, learning to manage and report R&D efforts in line with Aquacycl's standard procedures. Training will also cover the implementation of 5S principles for maintaining laboratory cleanliness and organization. To further develop their skills, students will participate in regular meetings, workshops, and on-the-job training sessions focused on improving their technical knowledge, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
