Opportunity Summary 

An intern in the Asthma Remediation Program will assist in improving educational presentations and infographics. The intern will gain valuable field experience by shadowing home visits and community outreach events. Responsibilities also include working with the program associate to prepare remediation products for weekly deliveries. 

Tasks:

Will assist in improving educational presentations and infographics. The intern will gain valuable field experience by shadowing home visits and community outreach events. Responsibilities also include working with the program associate to prepare remediation products for weekly deliveries. The intern will demonstrate their learning outcomes by focusing on patient education, data collection and direct support service. The intern will be developing and delivering educational materials on our asthma relief program. The data collection will entail patient outcomes and identifying areas of improvements. 

Training:

Onboarding processing will be scheduled for the intern to learn about agency protocols and liabilities. The intern will be supervised by the director or manager through regular one-on-one meetings, participation in all agency staff training, and specialized training (City or state) when necessary. The intern will collaborate with the team to develop a suitable work plan and schedule.  

Learning Outcome:

This internship provides a hands-on opportunity to learn about asthma prevention and symptom management, including how social determinants of health impact asthma outcomes. The intern will work closely with the team to understand the importance of their work in the community.
