Physical Therapy InternAt — Equip Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Inc.

Looking for a dynamic and passionate individual to join the team as interns. We will provide exposure in physical therapy based treatments that will improve candidate’s chances of getting into professional school. This exposure includes, but is not limited to, therapeutic exercises/activities, manual therapy, modalities, gait/balance, functional, strength, and mobility training.

Tasks:

Communicating between patient and providers to enhance care.
Demonstrating therapeutic exercises to enhance quality of life.
Organizing clinical tools, equipment, and documents to maintain a proper working environment.
Applying clinical modalities to reduce pain and improve function.
Utilizing clinical EMR system to assist in administrative related duties.

Training:

Overview of responsibilities and structure of tasks. Training with staff in leadership positions. Weekly mentor meetings and consultations. Job shadowing. Monthly skills training

Learning Outcome:

Student will be able to communicate effectively with patients and staff to allow efficient and streamlined clinical operations.
Student will be able to demonstrate therapeutic exercises with proper form, mechanics, and verbalization of movements.
Students will be able to maintain an orderly and clean working environment.
Student will effectively organize clinical tools and documents.
