Willow Home Health offers students a supportive environment to gain experience in the field of home health care. Through shadowing and observation of skilled nurses and therapists, students will learn essential practices in patient care, therapy techniques, and individualized care planning. They will also develop lesson plans tailored to patients’ recovery needs while adhering to strict health and safety protocols. Supervised by experienced professionals, students will enhance their clinical skills, communication abilities, and understanding of the home health care industry, preparing them for future roles in health care settings.
Students will have gained practical knowledge of home health care practices, including patient assessment, care planning, and therapeutic interventions. They will have developed skills in creating individualized lesson plans, applying effective communication techniques with patients and health care teams, and adhering to infection control and safety protocols. With this internship, students will have a deeper understanding of the roles and responsibilities of health care professionals in a home health setting.
Students will receive hands-on training by shadowing and observing experienced health care professionals in the field, including nurses and therapists. Through this observational experience, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of clinical practices and patient interaction. Additionally, students will receive instruction on developing individualized lesson plans designed to support patients’ rehabilitation and health management goals.
Students must adhere to all established health and safety protocols while participating. As patients may be ill or recovering from serious conditions, students will be required to follow strict infection control measures, including proper hand hygiene, the use of personal protective equipment. Students will receive training on recognizing signs of infection and will be instructed to report any concerns immediately to supervising staff.
