This immersive internship offers hands-on experience in the field of developmental care, providing direct support to children with autism and other developmental challenges. Tasks:
Individualized Child Engagement
Provide personalized, one-on-one developmental support to children in home and community environments.
Utilize play-based methods and relationship-centered techniques to foster connection and engagement.
Tailor interactions to align with each child's developmental stage, preferences, and comfort level.
Facilitation of Therapeutic Activities
Support the delivery of structured, goal-oriented activities that nurture emotional, cognitive, and social growth.
Incorporate sensory, motor, and interactive exercises into daily sessions to reinforce developmental objectives.
Observe child responses during activities and make informed adjustments to meet evolving needs.
Team-Based Collaboration
Coordinate with therapists, clinicians, and family members to ensure alignment of care strategies and goals.
Actively participate in team discussions, staff meetings, and professional development sessions.
Share observational insights and contribute to ongoing care planning with clarity and professionalism.
Behavioral Tracking & Progress Monitoring
Document behavioral observations, developmental milestones, and engagement patterns during each session.
Maintain accurate and organized session records, highlighting achievements and noting areas for growth.
Communicate findings and concerns with supervisors and team members to support consistent, effective care.

Training:
Interns enrolled will receive in-depth, structured training to ensure they are well-equipped to deliver effective, relationship-based developmental support. The training is designed to build both a strong theoretical foundation and practical skills aligned with the Developmental, Relationship-Based Intervention model.
Paid Two-Week Training Intensive: Interns will participate in a comprehensive, paid two-week training program focused on understanding and applying the DRBI model. This phase equips interns with the core knowledge and techniques essential for supporting children with autism and developmental differences.
Weekly Live Virtual Reflection Sessions: Throughout the internship, interns will engage in weekly live virtual discussions that offer space for reflection, Q&A, and deeper exploration of care strategies and real-world application.
Early Client Engagement & Support Network: During the training period, interns will begin forming connections with their assigned clients and key team members—including case managers, scheduling coordinators, and developmental specialists—who will provide ongoing guidance and support.
Ongoing Access to Learning Resources: Interns will receive continuous access to a digital library of guided materials and training resources throughout the internship, enabling them to review concepts, reinforce skills, and deepen their understanding at their own pace.
This comprehensive training experience ensures interns are confident, prepared, and supported as they begin delivering high-quality, individualized care to children in home and community settings.
