Transfer and Completion Fieldwork InternshipAt — Mt. San Antonio College Transfer and Completion Center

Opportunity Summary 

The Transfer and Completion Fieldwork intern will be trained on how the Transfer and Completion Center operates while also supporting the center in planning and implementing a program, event, or experience that is meaningful to student success at Mt. San Antonio College and aligns with the intern's professional and academic interests.

Tasks:

1. Complete assigned reading, writing, and shadowing requirements incorporated into the training component of the internship.
2. Research the transfer student population(s) of interest and present the information to the director.
3. With support from the Transfer and Completion Team, plan a program, event, or experience that would benefit one or more of the transfer student populations that were researched.
4. If hours permit, see the planned program, event, or experience to implementation and participate in facilitating it.

Training:

Training will be organized into tasks to be completed by the end of the internship's 2nd week, which includes learning the State and District-specific policies that guide the Transfer and Completion Center's operations and goals. Shadowing professional staff is also included in the training protocol.

Learning Outcome:

1. Describe how the Transfer and Completion Center at Mt. San Antonio College operates.
2. Describe the current state of student success at Mt. San Antonio Community College.
3. Know how to plan and implement a student success-related program, event, or experience at a California Community College.
