We are seeking two motivated interns to support our mission in three key areas: administrative support, community events, and social media outreach. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, event coordination, and digital communications. Interns will assist with scheduling, email correspondence, program documentation, and data entry. You’ll also help plan and execute enriching fitness-based events for local youth and families. In addition, you'll contribute to managing our social media platforms, creating engaging content to promote our programs and amplify our impact. Through this internship with A Heart of an Angel, students will gain valuable knowledge and practical skills in nonprofit administration, event coordination, and social media marketing. Interns will learn how to organize schedules, manage email and program communications, and maintain accurate records essential administrative competencies for any professional setting. They will also develop hands-on experience in planning and executing community events that promote fitness and wellness for children and families. Communication skills will be strengthened through direct engagement with diverse populations, including youth, parents, and local partners. In addition, students will enhance their digital literacy by creating and managing content for our social media platforms, learning how to craft messages that build community engagement and brand visibility. This role also cultivates time management, teamwork, and leadership abilities, as interns collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders. Overall, students will leave with a stronger professional foundation and the rewarding experience of contributing to a meaningful cause.
Students will receive hands-on training tailored to each of their responsibilities. This includes orientation on our mission, programs, and expectations, followed by guided instruction in administrative processes such as scheduling, data entry, and communication. For community event support, interns will shadow team members to learn how to assist with logistics, setup, and participant engagement. Social media training will include hands on content creation using IG and , best practices for captions and photos, and scheduling posts through Meta Business Suite or similar platforms.
Most of the internship responsibilities will take place in an office setting, where interns will be provided with a safe and professional work environment. For occasional participation in community outreach events, safety protocols will be reviewed in advance. This includes instruction on proper setup of equipment, hydration and sun protection for outdoor environments, and awareness of surroundings in public spaces. Interns will be supervised during all outreach activities and are expected to follow clear guidelines when interacting with children and families to ensure a safe and respectful experience.
