Fellow Program Support (College Corps Only Opportunity)At — Raíces y Cariño
College Corps Only Opportunity
3 Open Positions
Duties will vary depending on what interests the Fellow has.
There are days where we have community events that are fast-paced with lots of overlapping duties. and there are days where it's slower and we are able to connect one on one with a family who visits the center.
We strive to ensure each person who walks in the door feels seen and cared for. Sometimes this means providing one or all of the following (Note: Fellows would not be responsible for ALL of the duties needed! These are only examples)
Child engagement: playing/engaging/carrying children ages newborn and older. No diaper changes. And guardians are always on-site with their child.
Parent/Community Member Support: Greeting those who come in and assessing what their needs are. It could be getting more information. It could be needing some clothes from our donations area. It could be just coming in to play during Open Center with their toddler. It could be registering for a dental visit on Dientes Day, or a massage on Wellness Day. It could be needing support in filling out forms.
Class Aide or Class Lead: If Fellow has interest in creating OR assisting OR leading an enrichment class, we say YES and YAY!
Attending Resource Fairs / Community Outreach Events: We are invited to many fairs, events, award dinners, gatherings, etc. We can't attend them all, but we want to! Fellows play an important role in this goal.
If a Fellow prefers not engaging directly with the public, we have lots of non-people facing duties we need support with too! These include (Note: these are example duties, not a list of requirements):
- Chores in the center like dishes, dusting, and organizing our donations area.
- Website maintenance (weekly and monthly)
- Graphic / flyer creation (as needed)
- Social media maintenance (daily)
- Posting fliers throughout our area
- Supporting our phone line with text response and calls
- Event planning
- Fundraising planning
- Schedule planning
- Translation or Interpretation support
The RC Family Center is a safe, inclusion space for all of our diverse community of families.
We are seeking Fellows who share our core values of kindness, anti-rascim and anti-bigotry.
We are hoping to have additional support in Spanish and Mixteco. But that is not a requirement.
Open hours: Schedule is unique to the availability of the Fellow. Weekdays and weekend shifts are both possible. Remote work is also possible
