Help the Sports Med clinic with intern approved tasks and create a learning environment for the intern seeking skills in this profession.
Tasks:
Assisting in patient care
Research anatomical structures, familiarize themselves with the patient’s condition.
Interns will get a lot of hands on experience in the office.
They are expected to help out around the treatment room and with patients when asked.
Training:
We will provide standard Orientation
The student intern will shadow staff throughout the internship and have weekly 1on1 meeting

AMP INTERN OBJECTIVES
1. Gain a proficient understanding of the anatomical makeup of the body.
2. Be able to understand and explain the kinesiological applications of all anatomical muscles relevant to movement patterns during fundamental exercises such as a squat, lunge, bench press, etc.
3. Gain an understanding of what Chiropractic is and how it is used to improve the overall well-being of a patient.
4. Understand the concept of Advanced Myofascial Percussion (AMP) and how to use percussion as a form of treatment on patients.
5. Observe and gain an understanding of manual therapy including Active Release Technique, Manual Release Technique, and Reciprocal Inhibition.
6. Being able explain the relevance of and to teach both corrective and postural exercises to patients to enhance the effects of AMP therapy.
7. Knowing how to properly stretch patients according to their limitations, including unique athletes such as dancers, gymnasts, and cheerleaders.
8. Knowing how to foam roll any part of the body and being capable of explaining a foam rolling routine to a patient.
9. Understanding and being able to explain the physiological purpose of Normatec Recovery to patients as part of the AMP protocol.
10. Understanding and being able to explain the physiological purpose of Game Ready to patients as part of the AMP protocol. 11. Knowing how to properly put on and take off all Normatec and Game Ready “sleeves”.
