Opportunity Summary

The CSUSM Women and Gender Equity Center (WGEC) cultivates an inclusive and validating space for all students, centering the experiences of women, trans and non-binary students, and parenting students. We build intersectional feminist communities through brave space dialogue, gender equity education, and social justice-driven programming. Whether you're seeking connection, leadership development, or resources to support your academic and personal journey, WGEC is here to uplift and empower you. Join us in creating a more just, informed, and supportive campus community.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes

Students will develop a deeper understanding of intersectional feminism and gender equity. They will strengthen their ability to engage in brave space dialogue, practice inclusive leadership, and foster community through social justice programming. Students will also enhance their self-awareness, advocacy skills, and capacity to support and affirm diverse gender identities. Ultimately, they will leave more empowered to lead with empathy, challenge inequities, and contribute to a more inclusive campus environment.

Opportunity Training

All students will participate in a comprehensive orientation that covers system operations, event planning best practices, and how to lead inclusive, impactful programs. Training will also include an overview of the WGEC’s mission, values, and expectations, equipping students with the tools to support our community and uphold our commitment to gender equity and social justice.

Opportunity Application Instructions
