Opportunity Summary 

Gain hands-on experience in photography, editing and visual storytelling while working alongside a dynamic team in Cal State San Marcos’ University Communications office. This internship offers a behind-the-scenes look at professional communications and the chance to contribute to real projects that showcase the university community.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

The student will acquire a strong foundation in photography fundamentals such as composition, lighting and visual storytelling. They will gain experience editing images using industry-standard software like Adobe Lightroom and develop an understanding of how photography supports strategic communications and visual branding. Interns will also build skills in meeting deadlines, communicating professionally, and collaborating within a creative team. Additionally, they will gain insight into the day-to-day operations of a university communications office and contribute to real-world projects that highlight the university community.

Opportunity Training 

The student will work with a variety of team members to hone their skills. This will include peers such as other student photographers as well as designers and writers.
