Opportunity Summary 

Key Responsibilities: Organizational Support • Research best practices from other campus SVOs and national models (e.g., SVA); draft bylaws, leadership roles, and governance structures; establish membership criteria and election/appointment processes • Help gather examples of basic bylaws or mission statements from peer institutions Veteran Engagement • Support Veterans Services in conducting a basic needs assessment (e.g., surveys, informal interviews), and help establish a listening series designed to promote student veteran and military-affiliated engagement • Help compile findings and summarize for internal use Strategic Planning • Co-develop mission, vision, and values statements for the SVO • Create a timeline and roadmap for SVO launch and long-term sustainability • Map potential partnerships with community and national veteran organizations
