Opportunity Summary 

Join ECOLIFE Conservation’s Aquaponics Innovation team and gain hands-on experience at the intersection of environmental science, food security, and sustainable agriculture. As an Aquaponics Technician Intern, you’ll assist with the operation and maintenance of a 3,000-gallon solar-powered aquaponics farm and support offsite installations in schools and communities. You’ll work on meaningful, resume-building projects while learning from professionals in environmental engineering, nonprofit operations, and science communication. If you’re passionate about sustainability and looking to gain practical skills in system design, agriculture, and water management.

Opportunity Training 

Interns receive a structured onboarding session (1–2 hours) covering aquaponics system basics, safety protocols, and site orientation. Ongoing hands-on training is provided weekly by the Aquaponics Engineer and project team, with opportunities to shadow staff on system builds, maintenance routines, and school partnerships.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

This opportunity involves work in greenhouses and open-air warehouses. Temperatures may occasionally exceed 90°F. Closed-toe shoes and appropriate sun protection are required. Training in tool safety and proper lifting techniques will be provided. Interns must follow site-specific COVID-19 protocols if applicable.
