Opportunity Summary 

To assist in all things regarding athletics communications, write press releases, post on social media accounts, attend home sporting events, update record books and student-athlete bios.

Training:

- provide examples and review press releases
- meet with the intern, coaching staff and communication staff about the way that specific team wants their social media accounts run
- have them shadow the full-time staff at different sporting events so they are well-versed and can see how the show is supposed to go

Learning Outcomes:

- effectively write an AP-style press release
- work on team social media accounts
- learn how to run a sporting event in terms of being in charge of gameday operations from an athletics communications standpoint
