FYUP Academic Resiliency Internship At — CSUSM - Office of Undergraduate Studies, First-Year & University Programs
The Academic Resiliency intern will support the Associate Director, First-Year & University Programs, ARC and ARC Peer Coaches in various capacities, but ultimately shows care to struggling students given their lived experience as a former struggling student and continuing member of the CSUSM campus community. This internship aims to provide professional development opportunities to former ARC students and ARC Peer Coaches who have an interest in fostering the aforementioned values as they relate to education, teaching, human development/relations, counseling, coaching, campus leadership, and/or student advocacy.
This internship offers new learning experiences for students interested in education, human development, social work, leadership, and advocacy. Students will work closely with our Associate Director, First-Year & University Programs, ARC to provide ongoing support for our ARC Peer Coaching Team – co-teaching our 1-unit UNIV 200B: The Peer Coach Experience course, offering guidance to new ARC Peer Coaches, and assuming minor administrative responsibilities related to our ARC Peer Coach Program.
Interns will be working side-by-side with our Associate Director, First-Year & University Programs, ARC to complete tasks associated with the internship. Interns will receive real-time instruction and support in completing internship tasks.
