Marketing InternAt — The Empire Strykers

Opportunity Summary 

The Marketing Intern will gain valuable, hands-on experience working with the Empire Strykers’ marketing team in a fast-paced professional sports environment. This role supports our mission of building community by assisting in social media content creation, event promotion, sponsorship activation, and fan engagement initiatives. Interns will work closely with multiple departments to help execute marketing campaigns, coordinate in-game promotions, and support community outreach events. Responsibilities include brainstorming creative content ideas, assisting at home games, capturing photos and videos for digital platforms, and helping with partner activations. Interns will also learn how to analyze campaign performance, engage with fans online and in person, and contribute to brand growth. This position is ideal for students or recent graduates seeking practical experience in sports marketing while making a meaningful impact both on and off the field

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

By the end of this opportunity, students will have gained a strong foundation in professional sports marketing, learning how to plan and execute campaigns, manage social media platforms, and create engaging content that connects with fans. They will understand event operations, from in-game promotions to community outreach activations, and develop skills in sponsorship activation and partner relationship management. Students will also learn how to track and analyze marketing performance, collaborate across multiple departments, and apply strategies that grow a sports brand while making a meaningful impact through building community.

Opportunity Training 

We will provide a dedicated onboarding week where students will receive a general overview of each department within the organization. This process will not only introduce them to our operations and culture but also allow us to identify their strengths, interests, and skills. From there, we can place them in roles where they can contribute most effectively and continue developing their abilities.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

While this role primarily involves office work and event support, safety remains a priority. Interns will receive guidance on workplace safety, including proper use of equipment, safe event setup and teardown procedures, and awareness of emergency protocols at venues. When attending games or community events, interns will be briefed on crowd management awareness, personal safety in large public settings, and safe handling of promotional materials. We are committed to providing a secure, supportive environment so interns can focus on learning, contributing, and helping us build community with confidence.
