Opportunity Summary 

P&P Imports LLC, founded in 2007, designs and distributes innovative consumer products across the U.S. and globally. With corporate offices in Orange County, CA and partners across Asia, we are committed to quality, safety, and innovation. We are seeking a motivated Occupational Health Intern to support our employee wellness, safety compliance, and workplace health initiatives.

Tasks:

Intern duties will include, but are not limited to:

Conducting ergonomic assessments for office and warehouse staff.

Assisting with workplace safety audits and updating compliance records.

Supporting the development of employee wellness initiatives (stretch breaks, hydration campaigns, injury-prevention flyers).

Collecting and analyzing health/safety data for quarterly reporting.

Assisting with training sessions on workplace safety and proper lifting techniques.

Researching occupational health best practices to recommend improvements.

Drafting wellness communications and resources for employees.

(Note: 80%+ of tasks are professional/pre-professional in nature and involve applied public health/occupational health practices.)

Training:

General Employer Orientation (mandatory): Introduction to P&P Imports’ culture, policies, and safety standards.

Weekly one-on-one mentor meetings: Guidance, progress reviews, and career development.

Job shadowing: Observe safety inspections, ergonomic evaluations, and wellness program development.

Workshops/skills training: OSHA basics, hazard identification, ergonomic assessment tools, and health data tracking.

Work samples & documentation training: Access to existing compliance logs, inspection reports, and wellness program materials.

Literature & policy review: Internal safety manuals, Cal-OSHA guidelines, and industry best practices.

Learning Outcome:

Apply occupational health and safety concepts to identify and mitigate workplace risks.

Conduct ergonomic and environmental assessments in an office/warehouse setting.

Assist in developing and implementing workplace wellness and injury-prevention initiatives.

Demonstrate competency in OSHA/Cal-OSHA compliance reporting and documentation.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate health and safety practices into daily operations.
