With both remote and in-person options, students can volunteer with Get On the Bus in one of more of the following ways: Support families with navigating the CDCR visitation clearance process until the day of their respective Get On The Bus (GOTB) event. Prepare and input data from post event surveys and/or Get On The Bus Applications Raise awareness and engage organizations and individuals as potential partners in the program. Participate in the Get On The Bus (GOTB) event and accompany families on the bus ride to the visiting event and facilitate activities between families and their incarcerated loved one.

Students will be required to attend an onboarding training prior to starting their service learning experience. A Trauma Informed Care training will be provided if applicable to their role.
If working in the office, students will receive emergency and safety protocol information.
