Student AssistantAt — CSUSM Department of Athletics
Assist in the operations and on-court practices and games for the CSUSM Women's Basketball team. Specific may include but not limited to: -Help to organize community service opportunities -On court instruction for student athletes -Help to plan and implement social media content for program -Assist in gathering information for travel, including identifying minority owned restaurants to feed our team at when we travel -Collect and Organize information on potential women's basketball recruiting prospects -Utilize Synergy program to scout opponents and breakdown film for individual film study -Help with pre and post game meals -Set up and take down of practice equipment -Assist with laundry
This opportunity will provide student with a holistic insight into the various aspects of a women's college basketball program. A student will learn what is involved in recruiting potential student athletes, how to help student athletes grow and mature on the playing floor and as productive members of society, how to engage in the community - both across campus and in the surrounding area, and how to prepare for and implement game plans in prep of opponents.
-NCAA Compliance Modules & training with CSUSM compliance officer -Training on how to use software such as Synergy & JustPlay
Student will be active in on-court practices. (Note that there is a vetting and clearing of the student for this role in the CSUSM athletics volunteer approval process that we have completed.)
