Opportunity Summary
Interns will assist staff in the day-to-day activities within a fast-paced governmental agency. Students or recent graduates selected for the position perform a range of duties, from very basic activities to those require higher skill levels.
- Updating departmental webpages and maintaining digital calendars for events and meetings
- Assisting with project coordination, including scheduling meetings and tracking
deadlines. - Creating, editing, and updating informational materials, presentations, and reports
- Assisting with inter-departmental newsletter
- Interacting with other governmental and community-based organizations
- Responding to questions from the public and community organizations
- Providing general administrative support, such as data entry, filing, and scheduling
- Providing support with social media sites
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the internship students will:
- Gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced government environment.
- Develop a strong understanding of how local government agencies operate and the various departments that collaborate to serve the community.
- Hone essential professional skills such as communication, organization, and attention to detail.
- Gain experience in digital content management by maintaining departmental webpages and supporting social media initiatives.
- Acquire practical skills in project coordination by helping to organize and track multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- And, Learn to collaborate effectively with different departments to achieve shared goals and ensure project success.
