Opportunity Summary 

The Special Events Intern will support the planning, coordination, and execution of Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos’ signature fundraising events. This role offers hands-on experience in nonprofit event management, donor stewardship, and community relations while furthering BGCSM’s mission to inspire and enable all youth to reach their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Current student or recent graduate with an interest in event management, communications, marketing, nonprofit management, or related field. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends for special events. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Canva or other design tools is a plus.

Opportunity Training 

Students will report to Events & Volunteer Specialist and receive hands-on training in event planning, coordination, and execution. From donor relations and sponsorship outreach to logistics, volunteer management, and on-site event support, students will gain practical skills and behind-the-scenes experience in creating successful fundraising events.
