Opportunity Summary 

To observe and learn from a licensed Physical Therapist in a clinical setting.  To follow the treatment of patients by Physical Therapist for neurological and orthopedic conditions, and to assist PT when instructed and as needed.

Tasks:

Observe and shadow Physical Therapist.
Follow the exercises of patients for each condition as instructed by the Physical Therapist. Know the name of the exercises and to assemble the exercise folder as instructed.
Student intern will be instructed and challenged by the Physical Therapist to observe, the reason as to the problem patient is encountering, and the possible solution to the problem through the application of specific exercises, and behavior modification.

Training:

The student intern will shadow the Physical Therapist during patient treatment and instruction, and will assist when needed.

Learning Outcome:

The duties and function of a Physical Therapist.
Exercises to apply to each problem and dysfunction, and the reasoning supporting.
Critical thinking and problem solving as related to the field of Physical Therapy.
