Social Media Peer Supervisor InternAt — CSUF - Public Health
The Department of Public Health is seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Intern Supervisor to oversee two departmental social media interns while establishing and managing the department’s social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn). The supervisor will play a key role in promoting departmental initiatives, raising awareness, and engaging the community. This position provides hands-on experience in developing effective public health content, managing an online presence, and strengthening leadership skills through direct supervision and mentorship of interns.
Tasks;
As the Internship Supervisor for two social media interns, responsibilities include:
Developing, executing, and enhancing strategies to launch and maintain departmental social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
Overseeing content planning by developing and managing a shared Canva content calendar in collaboration with interns and the Social Media Committee.
Assigning and guiding content creation, including graphics, videos, posts, digital/printed flyers, forms, and web content, to highlight departmental events, program achievements, public health initiatives, faculty and student spotlights, and promotional campaigns.
Leading event coordination and on-campus presence, including scheduling, filming, and capturing in-person content.
Monitoring social media trends and analytics, tracking engagement, and optimizing performance, including oversight of boosted promotional posts.
Engaging with the online community by ensuring timely and professional responses to comments, inquiries, and direct messages.
Collaborating with CSUF Strategic Communications and Brand Management to align messaging and branding across platforms.
Staying current with best practices in social media, including the use of portrait-style videos and emerging tools to expand reach.
Maintaining and updating the PUBH Social Media Training Manual, including development of an accompanying video training series.
