Tax Intern: Prepare individual and possibly entity tax returns. Organizing client financial data, maintaining workpapers, ensuring compliance with documentation standards in a public accounting setting. Gain familiarity with financial statements, return preparation, CPA firm processes and software.
Tasks:
You will be organizing client financial data, maintaining workpapers, prepare individual and possibly entity tax return, ensuring compliance with documentation standards in a public accounting setting. Gain familiarity with financial statements, return preparation, CPA firm processes and software.
Training:
You will be supervised and receive hands on direct training (shadowing) in office as often as needed.
Learning Outcome:
By the end the internship, the student will be able to:
1) Develop an understanding of federal and state tax concepts by preparing individual and possibly business tax returns under supervision, using professional tax preparation software.
2) Strengthen analytical and problem-solving abilities through real-world application of accounting principles and data reconciliation.
3) Gain experience working in a professional CPA firm environment, learning how to communicate effectively while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
4) Develop skills in organizing client financial data, maintaining workpapers, and ensuring compliance with documentation standards in a public accounting setting
