This research service learning opportunity invites students to explore the field of environmental psychology through hands-on participation in an ongoing study examining environmental attitudes using digital ethnography. Under the guidance of a resident researcher, service learners will receive training in qualitative and digital research methods to analyze how individuals and communities express and engage with environmental values in online spaces. Through this experience, participants will deepen their understanding of the psychological and social factors that shape environmental behavior, while gaining practical skills in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.

This opportunity is ideal for students interested in psychology, environmental studies, communication, or related social sciences who wish to apply academic learning to meaningful, community-based research on sustainability and human–environment interactions.
Service learners will complete an agency & program orientation & will receive project specific training – qualitative analysis, NVivo, thematic analysis, Rscript Package Reddit Extractor.
Opportunity Supervison
Students will be involved with office meetings, and will also have scheduled time with a project leader to receive guidance and feedback. An employed researcher will supervise a social science research project, in which students will be trained in data analysis, data collection, and relevant literature.
