Opportunity Summary 

EOS Assistant will assist our EOS team in placing insurance coverage for high-value properties. Intern responsibilities include reviewing insurance applications, accurate entry into the policy rating system, and policy accounting. The intern will be shadowing the underwriter and supervisor and will earn experience rating and preparing property and general liability submissions independently.

Tasks:

The intern will have first-hand experience with the lead underwriter reviewing and rating submissions using industry tools and/or software programs including AIM, Risk Meter, among other various quoting/rating tools. The intern will demonstrate their learning outcomes by the end of the experience by being able to fully underwrite a submission independently from start to finish by reviewing the risk thoroughly, providing an accurate quote, processing all relevant forms, binding the policy, and processing with accounting.

Training:

The intern will be shadowing the supervisor and admin team and will gain experience rating, quoting, qualifying, and documenting submissions independently. The EOS team supervisor has over 40 years of experience writing property & casualty policies and holds the CPCU designation. Orientation will be held in week one with a review of the program, clients, policies, and carriers. Daily one-on-one training with the staff lead includes policy submission and workflow, rating guidelines, and pricing structure. Weekly review of work product by supervisor.

Learning outcome:

- Have basic understanding of Property and Casualty insurance practices
- Be able to receive and process new business and renewal submissions
- Understand the Property & Casualty industry and the software used for the submissions and record
