Embedded TutorAt — Hornets Tutoring

14 hours per week, paid $18.50 per hour. Attend classes and help students under the guidance of the course instructor. Design and conduct group study sessions before and after class. Three required trainings. Weekly required mentor meetings. 

Tasks:

Leading collaborative study sessions for 7 or more students multiple times per week.
Designing said sessions.
Collaborating with the professor to serve students during class, including promoting their study sessions.

Training:

Three required training events with workshops that are directly related to the outcomes. Some workshops are discipline specific. Workshops include things like: Serving Students on the Spectrum; How to Make a Tutoring Syllabus; Introducing Yourself to the Students on Day One.
There are also weekly mentor meetings where they go over session plans and trouble shoot any challenges that come up.

Learning Outcome:

1. Design group study session based on collaborative pedagogy.
2. Effectively market study sessions to students.
3. Improve public speaking skills.
