A&R InternAt — Too Lost
A&R Research Intern
This is an unpaid, for credit internship.
To be eligible you must be:
- Currently enrolled at a college/university in the United States
- Commit to 15 - 24 hours per week
- In Person at our LA office (preferred) OR Remote
Too Lost is looking for a group of dedicated, passionate, and organized interns to support A&R Research and outreach. You will assist in trending research tasks while learning the ropes of artist scouting and administration.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Conduct artist and song research through various channels for potential clients.
- Coordinate weekly A&R research reports and scouting projects.
- Monitor and report on domestic and international chart data and trends.
- Support A&R Team with various tasks including tracking key artist growth.
- Complete administrative tasks to ensure timely project submissions.
- Schedule calls/meetings and take notes in internal/external meetings
What We Are Looking For:
- Must be enrolled in a college or university and eligible for college credit
- Preferred to work in person from either our LA or NY offices
- Passionate/knowledgeable about music industry talent and trends
- Strong work ethic and use of discretion with confidential matters
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) with both internal and external teams
- Superior organizational and time management skills
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft and Google Suite
- Ability to multitask and prioritize under time restrictions without compromising integrity/quality of work
- **Plus if you have experience with A&R research/data platforms such as Meddling, Indify, Luminate, & Chartmetric
Training:
Training sessions for the first two weeks of their internships where they will establish foundational knowledge of the A&R role and Too Lost as a company.
Rotating mentors with the A&R team members.
Daily meetings with the A&R team to understand learning tasks, and have support when need be.
Weekly meetings with the HR team to evaluate progress
Learning Outcome:
A&R Interns will develop familiarity with the Too Lost pitch and practice communicating it under mentorship with artist and client calls. This internship is structured as an educational training experience, designed to give participants hands-on exposure to A&R within a distribution company. Interns will work under supervision and be provided regular mentorship and feedback.
By the end of the internship, interns will be able to:
Demonstrate the ability to identify emerging artists and songs by conducting market and trend analysis across multiple channels.
Prepare and deliver weekly research reports and updates in a clear, professional manner.
Manage scheduling, call coordination, and meeting documentation with precision and attention to detail.
Support A&R project operations by maintaining accurate records and tracking artist development progress.
Apply problem-solving skills to propose innovation that aligns with business goals.
Translate creative concepts into actionable strategies to improve user engagement and platform functionality.
