Business InternAt — An ICON Company, LLC
We’re looking for an organized, tech-comfortable intern to help with bookkeeping, data entry, marketing tasks, and general office admin in a growing e-commerce printing company. Responsibilities include entering invoices and customer data, helping with digital marketing tasks, filing and documentation, updating spreadsheets, supporting customer communication, and assisting with reports and special projects. Ideal for a student interested in business, accounting, or marketing looking for real-world experience.
Tasks:
- Observe and learn digital marketing workflows (SEO, email, paid ads, social media)
- Assist with educational, project-based assignments, such as:
- Drafting sample marketing content
- Reviewing campaign performance using provided or anonymized data
- Conducting basic market or competitor research
- Summarizing findings in short reports or presentations
The intern will not perform production work, manage live campaigns independently, or assume responsibilities currently assigned to staff. They will also sit in on meetings as an observer so they can become familiarized with how we develop and implement marketing strategies.
The intern will engage in a variety of professional administrative, accounting, marketing, and operations-related tasks, including:
Assist with bookkeeping workflows such as entering vendor invoices, categorizing expenses, reconciling receipts, and updating financial tracking spreadsheets and reports.
Support digital marketing activities by drafting social media posts, helping build email campaigns, preparing marketing lists, and organizing digital content folders and campaign assets.
Analyze data sets (customer orders, marketing performance, expense tracking, project timelines) and present findings in summary tables or simple dashboards.
Maintain CRM and order management records by entering customer information, updating project statuses, and documenting internal notes and communications.
Prepare internal documents and templates such as SOP checklists, onboarding materials, and workflow documentation for operational efficiency.
Participate in team meetings by taking notes, preparing agenda items, and summarizing follow-up actions and assigned tasks.
Conduct online research related to vendors, pricing, equipment, competitors, marketing strategies, and cost comparison to support decision-making at the management level.
Assist with communication and customer-facing correspondence including drafting response templates, preparing informational documents, and proofreading documents for clarity and accuracy.
Training:
The intern will work closely with managers and team members to become familiar with our systems, tools, and procedures. Training could be conducted in person or via Zoom.
- At least BiWeekly if not daily one-on-one check-ins via zoom (30–45 minutes)
- Ongoing feedback via email, shared documents, and video calls
- Guided instruction on marketing concepts, tools, and decision-making
- Virtual job shadowing through screen sharing and walkthroughs
- Orientation covering professionalism, confidentiality, and data privacy
The internship is primarily remote and structured to prioritize learning and skill development, with the student as the primary beneficiary. For training, we would share links to our website and some digital SOP manuals where we go over our mission statement and company values. We also have Youtube channels where we go over Lean Improvements and strategies. We're big on learning about 2 Second Lean, so we would also share content from various business oriented channels we study as part of the training process. The first few days of training would mainly consist of reading and watching videos. For in person internships, we would go over basic safety procedures. That being said, we operate out of an office/small warehouse type of setting. The equipment we run would be similar to what you would see in a kinkos or a quick copy type of place, so it's not a particularly dangerous type of environment. The intern would just be required to wear closed toe shoes and possibly pull their hair back
Learning Outcome:
By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to.
Demonstrate proficiency in business productivity software—Excel/Sheets, Docs/Word, CRM platforms—through the creation and organization of reports, data sets, and project documentation.
Communicate professionally with team members, vendors, and clients through written and verbal correspondence, demonstrating clarity, accuracy, and appropriate business etiquette.
Prioritize and manage multiple administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and maintaining strong attention to detail.
