Police CadetAt — Anaheim Police Department

The duties include interacting with the public in-person and via phone, conducting victim and witness interviews, and documenting complete and accurate police reports. Assists with releasing impounded vehicles, signing off traffic citations, fingerprint applicants, entering and retrieving computer data and filing documents.

Training;

General orientation, regular meetings with a supervisor to ensure progress and basic understanding of the tasks. Regular mentorship with different officers in the department during scheduled ride-alongs.

Learning outcome:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to accurately document minor crimes in police reports. They will also have an understanding of the structure of the police department and the various sections within the department.
