Videography InternAt — Jims Ink/Prolific Studio

Opportunity Summary

The Videography Intern will participate in a structured, supervised internship designed to provide hands-on experience in digital video production and content management within a professional, client-facing creative environment. This position emphasizes learning, mentorship, and skill development rather than independent production work.

Under the guidance of the Creative Director/Marketing Lead, the intern will assist with capturing video content, organizing media assets, and supporting branded storytelling initiatives. The intern will apply foundational videography principles while developing technical, creative, and professional skills relevant to careers in digital media, communications, and marketing.

Key responsibilities include filming short-form vertical videos for social media platforms and assisting with longer-form storytelling content; capturing footage of artists at work and the shop environment in accordance with brand and client guidelines; uploading and organizing raw footage in Google Drive using established file-naming conventions; labeling media using a standardized Content ID system; and logging all captured content into a Content Pipeline spreadsheet for workflow tracking.

Training:

The intern will participate in onboarding, job shadowing, weekly mentor check-ins, and ongoing feedback sessions.

Students will receive a structured onboarding and ongoing training program designed to support their learning outcomes. Training will begin with a general employer orientation, including an overview of the organization, workplace expectations, brand standards, safety guidelines, and professional conduct in a client-facing environment.

During the first week, students will participate in job shadowing with the supervising videographer or marketing lead to observe video capture techniques, client interaction protocols, and content workflows. The supervisor will provide an overview and contextualization of assigned tasks, explaining how each responsibility supports branding and digital media goals.

Students will receive hands-on skills training in short-form and long-form video capture, framing, lighting basics, and vertical content best practices. Training will also include instruction on content organization systems, including Google Drive folder structures, file-naming conventions, standardized Content ID labeling, and use of the Content Pipeline spreadsheet.

Throughout the placement, students will participate in weekly scheduled one-on-one mentor meetings to review progress, receive feedback on work samples, and discuss skill development. Additional training will be provided through review of past content examples, guided practice, feedback, and mentorship to ensure continuous learning and improvement.
