Opportunity Summary 

Coach students to learn basic counseling skills, suicide assessment, the ABC Model of Crisis Intervention. Attend training and supervision. Attend two sections of HUSR 410 weekly.

Learning Outcomes  

  1. assert themself with other students
    2. Guide students to learn counseling and crisis intervention skills
    3. Improve their own counseling and crisis intervention skills
    4. Improve self confidence when offering feedback to students

Training  

Pre-semester training on how to coach
In supervision, offer specific strategies to guide students to learn.
Demonstrate how to coach with students in front of the intern

Tasks/Duties  

  1. Demonstrating the ability to guide students and offer feedback effectively
    2. Discussing issues during supervision
    3. Providing feedback after observing the instructor perform coaching
