Opportunity Summary

We are looking for an exciting new intern to join us in our Beverly Hills office. Skills we are looking for are the understanding of script coverage structure, a basic understanding of what development, production and distribution entail, and the ability to have a fast turnaround. There will also be other projects in collaboration with our newly launched distribution company, Aura Entertainment. Someone who is proactive, excited to learn more about the business and is comfortable with being very honest with their feedback would be an ideal candidate for this position. This is a great role for someone interested in producing, creative development or acquisitions. We would like someone who can be in our Beverly Hills office twice a week; we can be flexible with which days. We are willing to be flexible with this as well if your school has specific requirements. Since this is an unpaid internship, we do require that you be currently enrolled in college. MUST be able to commit to 2 days in office, 10am-6pm.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- script coverage
- script notes (a great opportunity to dive further into creative development).
- maintenance of our submission log
- updating decks used for selling Pay 1s on the distribution side
- evaluating materials and screeners for potential acquisition
- taking notes in meetings

Training:

1. First week will be one-on-one orientation, training, and getting acquainted with the others in the office and learning their roles.
2. Open discussion on scripts everyday as they will be sitting with the team (me) at the desk.
3. Job shadowing on events for the distribution side, sitting in on meetings for our distribution company.
4. Opportunities to meet one-on-one with all of the executives in the office

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to:
1. Understand the basics of what indie feature film development entails and the filmmaking process on the business side
2. understand office etiquette
3. know about screenplay structure, coverage and what production companies look for
4. basic understanding of acquisitions for a distributor
5. networking skills and greater confidence
