Opportunity Summary 

Will assist physical therapy patients with exercise, set up equipment, answer phones, schedule patients, and help clean clinic.

Tasks:

Physical Therapy Aides provide essential support in clinical settings by assisting physical therapists with non-clinical tasks that help ensure smooth and efficient operations. Their responsibilities include preparing and assisting patients before treatment, setting up and sanitizing therapy equipment, maintaining clean and organized treatment areas, and performing basic administrative duties such as filing paperwork and scheduling. They also help restock supplies, escort patients, and may demonstrate equipment use under supervision. While they do not perform clinical evaluations, they play a vital role in supporting therapists during sessions and enhancing the overall patient care experience.

Training:

1. General Employer Orientation (Mandatory)

Interns will participate in an initial orientation session covering workplace policies, safety protocols, HIPAA compliance, infection control procedures, and an overview of the clinic's operations.
They will be introduced to staff roles, patient care standards, and ethical guidelines.
2. Weekly One-on-One Mentor Meetings

Interns will be assigned a supervising physical therapist or clinical aide mentor. Weekly check-ins will provide opportunities to reflect on progress, address questions, receive feedback, and set new goals. Skills Workshops and Hands-On Training

Periodic workshops will focus on specific competencies such as patient transfers, equipment sanitization, exercise setup, and using clinical software. Interns will participate in simulations and practice tasks under supervision. Interns will review sample documentation and practice writing brief treatment summaries, logs, or supply checklists, under the guidance of their mentor Emphasis is placed on clarity, accuracy, and confidentiality. Assigned readings on basic anatomy, common physical therapy techniques, and clinic procedures may be provided.
