Opportunity Summary 

As a Kindergarten Intern, with consistent supervision, you will focus on directly working with Pre-kindergarteners and Kindergarteners on their emotional regulation skills and their Desired Results Development Profile (DRDP). Interns will work side-by-side with teachers to learn problem solving, lesson planning and effective communication skills. 

Tasks:

- Daily Check-in and engagement with PreK and Kindergarten students.
- Lesson preparation and planning
- Shadowing Lead teacher in the classroom
- Observational note taking and documentation through Childfolio and DRDP
- Building healthy relationships with students through consistency, emotional support and active listening
- Problem solving with students.

Training:

The intern will be trained by the following:
-Shadowing multiple kindergartener teachers
-Weekly schedule one-on-one on fridays
-DRDP online training
-DRDP-K Online training
-completing DRDPS &DRDP-ks
-Inclusion trainings
- Communicating/Participating in Staff meetings
-Effective communication with children
-Intro to newsletters
-Health and Safety Training inside and outside the center.

Learning Outcome:

-effectively consult and collaborate with lead Kindergarten Teachers in a classroom setting
-understand and execute lesson planning
-collect anecdotal notes and observation notes
-input child folio documentation including pictures and ratings
-Complete DRDP &DRDP-k
-Create weekly/biweekly newsletter as well as learning Weekly Planning and execution.
-Learn varied strategies of emotional regulation
