Additional risk specific to this opportunity

The Sacramento LGBT Community Center prioritizes trainee safety through secure building access, emergency procedures, and supervised clinical spaces. Students receive orientation on evacuation, lockdown, and crisis protocols, and must notify licensed staff immediately if clients present risk (suicidality, psychosis, violence, abuse, medical emergencies). All documentation occurs in our HIPAA-compliant EHR, and confidentiality is strictly enforced across programs. Trainees are never expected to manage crises alone and have ongoing access to supervisors. Safety expectations also cover de-escalation, mandated reporting, telehealth emergencies, and after-hours procedures to ensure a supportive, well-supervised practicum environment.
