Physical Therapy InternAt — All Star Physical Therapy

Gain exposure to an outpatient physical therapy clinic. 

Tasks:

1. Observe the clinic flow
2. Take notes while shadowing physical therapists and aides
3. Communicate professionally with all staff and patients
4. Follow all safety guidelines in an outpatient clinic.
5. Be on time, dress and communicate professionally.

Training:

1. Orientation with Clinic Director
2. Weekly meeting with mentor
3. Shadow Physical Therapist treatments
4. Shadow physical therapy aides
5. Skills training, including anatomy, medical terminology, and safety in an outpatient physical therapy setting.

Learning Outcome:

1. Understand the job of a physical therapist and allied health practitioners
2. Describe the role of support staff in the outpatient physical therapy setting
3. Demonstrate professionalism- including timeliness, dress, and communication with all employees.
4. Use accurate medical terminology, anatomy, and kinesiology principles in the clinic.
5. Understand the flow of an outpatient physical therapy clinic.
