-Virtual academic support for students with mental health/learning disabilities
-Follow IEP goals and collect data on specific goals
- Assist in implementing educational programs and activities for students with autism
- Provide support and assistance to students in their daily routines and activities
- Assist in implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Support students in developing literacy skills through reading and writing activities
- Assist with classroom management, including maintaining
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and social skills development
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to support student learning and development
Task:
Expected to lead by example
o Expected to take the lead on various projects and have them completed by
deadline
o Expected to conduct home visits also known as Knock-and-talk, when
necessary
o Expected to help mentor and train Resiliency Coaches
o Expected to network and coordinate with school administration in LnR and
use self-initiative toRespond to school admin emails
Coordinate admin and school team meetings
Work with team members to ensure all students in LnR are
being reached and contacted regularly, permission notes signed
etc.
Attend all meetings
Create and track participants and program across all sites to
ensure quality of program
Training:
Student will receive general employer training. Student will also receive behavior training as her first training to gain understanding of what her role will be and how to execute it well. The student will spend about two weeks shadowing with other resiliency coaches in order to meet students they will be working with as well. After two weeks of shadowing she will have weekly 1-1 sessions with her facilitator to go over concerns, questions and wins.
Learning Outcome:
By the end of the academic internship the student will be able to assist in implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs), support students in developing literacy skills through reading and writing activities and collaborate with teachers and other professionals to support student learning and development.
