Opportunity Summary 

The Behavior Therapist Intern provides support to students in a school setting using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The intern assists with implementing behavior intervention and skill acquisition programs to promote academic engagement, social development, and positive classroom behavior.

Responsibilities

Implement individualized ABA programs and behavior intervention plans in the classroom

Support students with communication, social skills, self-regulation, and adaptive behaviors

Collect and record behavioral and academic data accurately

Assist with reinforcement systems, visual supports, and classroom routines

Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and the BCBA to support student success

Model appropriate behaviors and provide redirection as needed

Participate in training, supervision, and school-based team meetings

Qualifications

Enrollment in psychology, education, behavior analysis, or a related field

Interest in supporting students with developmental or behavioral needs

Strong communication, teamwork, and professionalism

Ability to follow clinical and educational direction

Training:

Interns will receive structured training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) within the school setting under the supervision of a BCBA. Training will include instruction on implementing behavior intervention plans, skill acquisition programs, and data collection procedures. Interns will learn to use reinforcement systems, visual supports, and prompting strategies to promote student engagement and positive behavior. Ongoing coaching, modeling, and feedback will be provided to support professional growth, ethical practice, and effective collaboration with school staff and families.
