Opportunity Summary 

Inter will support ongoing research projects focused on South Asian mental health, help\u2011seeking behaviors, and culturally responsive care. This role is ideal for students interested in psychology, social work, public health, neuroscience, or related fields who want hands\u2011on experience with research design, data collection, analysis, and translating findings into real\u2011world impact.

Tasks:

- Conduct literature reviews on mental health, cultural factors, and evidence\u2011based interventions
- Assist with qualitative and/or quantitative data collection
- Support data entry, coding, and preliminary analysis
- Help develop research tools (surveys, interview guides, focus group materials)
- Summarize findings for internal use, presentations, or community education
- Contribute to research reports, infographics, or educational materials
- Attend team meetings and present progress updates
- Maintain confidentiality and follow ethical research standards

Training:

HIPAA, Cybersecurity, phishing, and trauma informed care training

The student will be expected to complete mandatory training via e-learning/microlearning such as HIPAA training and Sexual Harassment Prevention Training. Additionally, LCSW will provide a direct instruction Trauma-informed Care training which includes safety procedures. These trainings are mandatory due to the importance of confidentiality to the community served, as well as state and federal regulations. 

To supplement this, the student will be expected to join LCSW/Mental Health Program Manager in a weekly one-on-one to discuss progress of work plan, provide feedback, and provide support as needed. The student will engage in observational learning and shadowing, such as attending and supporting in psycho-educational workshops held by LCSW for community members. The student will be provided with literature and case studies to identify themes to support the mental health unit in research.
