Opportunity Summary 

Job Description / Overview of Expected Tasks and Activities

The Community Services & Human Services Intern will support Recovery Road Inc.’s integrated service delivery model, which includes food security, housing navigation, Enhanced Care Management (ECM), and community-based human services. This service-learning role provides hands-on experience working alongside staff in a trauma-informed, dignity-centered environment serving individuals and families facing housing instability, health-related needs, and other barriers to stability.

Primary responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with daily operations of the on-site food pantry, including client intake support, inventory organization, and distribution assistance

  • Supporting housing navigation activities, including helping clients connect to shelter, transitional housing, and supportive housing resources

  • Assisting ECM-related support activities such as care coordination follow-up, resource linkage, and documentation support (non-clinical)

  • Supporting client engagement by helping individuals access benefits, healthcare-related resources, and community services

  • Assisting staff with outreach, data collection, and service tracking

  • Supporting program coordination, scheduling, and follow-up communications

  • Participating in team meetings, trainings, and reflective service-learning activities

  • Assisting with administrative tasks such as organizing files, updating resource lists, and preparing materials for community partners

Interns will gain exposure to coordinated care models, housing stability efforts, and nonprofit human services operations while making a meaningful contribution to community-based support services.
