You’ll gain hands-on experience, strengthen leadership and teamwork skills, and see the direct impact of your work in the community. If you’re passionate about helping others, enjoy creative projects, and want experience that truly matters, this learning service opportunity is for you.

Opportunity Training

All students will be provided with the information and training needed to successfully perform their responsibilities. Training will include an overview of the school district and the community schools model, so students understand how schools partner with families and community organizations. Students will receive guidance on using school platforms and programs, including tools like ClassDojo, Google Drive, Chrome, and other commonly used systems.

Additional training will cover creating bilingual educational materials, effective communication with families, and basic website editing and video tutorial development. Students will also learn about professionalism, cultural responsiveness, and how to work collaboratively with school staff. Ongoing support and supervision will be provided throughout the experience to ensure students feel confident, prepared, and supported in their role.

Opportunity Supervision

Ongoing support and supervision will be provided through a structured remote model to ensure students feel guided and connected. Students will have a designated supervisor who provides clear expectations, regular check-ins, and timely feedback through virtual meetings, email, and messaging platforms. Scheduled check-ins will allow students to ask questions, review progress, and receive guidance on projects. Shared online workspaces will be used to track tasks, collaborate on resources, and provide real-time feedback.

Students will also have access to step-by-step guides, templates, and recorded trainings they can reference as needed. Although the work is fully remote, students will be supported through consistent communication, mentorship, and ongoing supervision to ensure they are successful, confident, and engaged throughout the experience.
