Opportunity Summary 

We are looking for a result-driven Seasonal Sales Associate to be responsible for all sales job duties, from generating leads to closing sales.

Sales Associate duties and responsibilities include working closely with customers to determine their needs, answer their questions about our products, and recommend the right solutions with a positive attitude.

You should be able to promptly resolve customer complaints and ensure maximum client satisfaction. To be successful as a Sales Associate, you should stay up-to-date with product features and maintain our kiosk’s visual appearance to high standards. Ultimately, the duties of a sales associate are to achieve excellent customer service, while consistently meeting the kiosk’s sales goals.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
  • Assess customer's needs and provide assistance and information on product features
  • Welcome customers to the location and answer their queries
  • Maintain in-stock and presentable condition assigned areas
  • Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options
  • Process POS (point of sale) purchases
  • Handle returns of merchandise
  • Comply with inventory control procedures
  • Able to work in outdoor conditions

Tasks:

The student will perform operational and customer-facing duties that require independent judgment, accountability, and coordination within a high-volume food service environment.
Primary responsibilities include:
Managing point-of-sale transactions with accuracy, including cash handling, credit processing, refunds, and end-of-shift reconciliation.
Applying professional customer service standards by resolving guest concerns, answering product-related questions, and maintaining brand representation.
Executing opening and closing operational procedures, including cash drawer setup, daily financial balancing, sanitation compliance checks, and secure inventory storage.
Monitoring product levels and communicating inventory needs to back-of-house or commissary teams to prevent service disruption.
Coordinating with team members during peak periods to maintain efficiency, reduce wait times, and ensure workflow continuity.
Maintaining visual merchandising and product presentation standards aligned with company and Disney operational expectations.
Participating in daily operational accountability practices, including time management, task prioritization, and adherence to structured procedures.
Over 80% of assigned duties require professional conduct, financial responsibility, operational awareness, and independent task execution within a structured business environment.

Training:

Students will complete a structured six-day training program designed to ensure competency in customer service, sales operations, and location-specific responsibilities.
Initial Orientation (Day 1):
The student will receive a general employer orientation covering company policies, workplace expectations, timekeeping procedures, food safety standards, cash-handling policies, and customer service expectations. The structure of operations at the Disney location will be reviewed to provide context for all assigned tasks.
Shift-Based Skills Training (Days 2–6):
Training is divided into three core shift types that operate within the same sales environment but include distinct responsibilities:
Sales Associate (Pure Sales Shift)
POS system training (cash, credit card processing, receipt handling)
Product knowledge and upselling techniques
Guest engagement and service recovery techniques
Daily cash reconciliation procedures
Opening / Closing Shifts
Opening procedures (cash drawer setup, product staging, cleanliness checks)
Closing procedures (cash balancing, breakdown and secure storage, sanitation standards)
End-of-day reporting and accountability processes
Runner Shift (Inventory & Logistics Support)
Inventory tracking and restocking procedures
Communication protocols between stand and back-of-house/commissary
Proper handling and transport of food products
Time management and prioritization during high-volume periods
Each training day includes supervised shadowing followed by hands-on practice under direct oversight. Performance feedback is provided daily to reinforce learning outcomes and ensure accountability.
Students are gradually given increased responsibility as competency is demonstrated. Ongoing mentorship and performance check-ins occur throughout the internship to support continued growth.
